It has long been recognised that concrete placed in soil can be damaged by sulphate species in the soil. For over 40 years, BRE has advocated classifying sites according to the concentration of sulphate in the soil or the groundwater. This new report takes into account progress in analytical methods and techniques as well as the extended chemical tests required in Digest 363. 15 pages.
