This paper provides guidance on the control of biological growths on external stone surfaces. It describes the types of growth occurring on external stone and their potential effects on the stone and reports on comparative tests on the efficacy of different types of control procedures using chemical washes. It does not name the commercial products used, as many have been withdrawn or reformulated since the beginning of the trials. 4 pages.
