by BRE (14-Dec-2001)

Book Description

Part 2 of this Good Building Guide gives 'rule of thumb' solutions to foundation design for low-rise housing. It deals exclusively with the commonest forms of housing: one- or two-storey construction for houses and flats to which Approved Document A, Sections 1 and 2 (of the Building Regulations, England & Wales) would apply. It is also intended exclusively for housing in which the ground floor is suspended and of pre-cast concrete beam and block construction or in which the ground floor is a ground-supported slab. For other constructions consult BS 8103. 8 pages.
