Assessing the sustainability of office refurbishment with BREEAM: A case study Downloadable Version

by N Paterson (01-Nov-2011)

Book Description

This Information Paper illustrates the application of BREEAM to an office fit-out project with a target BREEAM rating of Excellent. The case study – an office in the Building Centre, Store Street, London – describes the fit-out assessment process and how it differs from other forms of BREEAM assessment. It reviews the approach taken by the project team given the challenges that were encountered, and highlights examples of good practice in decision making, project management and the prioritisation of activities. The project demonstrates that an Excellent rating can be a realistic aspiration for many typical refurbishment projects.
