Book Description

(Sold in packs of 10)

Good environmental management on site requires a team effort between main contractors, subcontractors, designers, clients and suppliers.

Construction consumes a large quantity of resources, alters and sometimes adversely affects the natural environment. A site may have an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) in place that will cover all environmental considerations likely to be relevant on a particular site and should be referred to.

This pocket book provides site supervisors/foremen with an “on the spot” decision support tool for dealing with situations such as spills and encountering wildlife. It also gives advice on day-to-day activities to promote good practice and prevent environmental incidents. Topics covered include ecology, fuel and chemical storage, pollution prevention, waste and water.
