This leaflet describes the general structural details of Fidler house construction. Approximately 2000 dwellings of this type are known to have been built in London and Manchester in 1926. The system consists of cavity external walls formed with breeze concrete slabs spaced and held by special metal ties. The cavity is filled with dense cast-in-situ concrete. The first floor and roof are of traditional timber construction. This leaflet is a compilation of extracts from several sources. it does not encompass all variations and some construction details may vary from those given.

3 pages only.
